My two brothers and me hunted the last weekend of the Arizona Quail season with Matt, from Double Aero Guides, and had lots of bird contacts. His dogs handled and performed well, and Matt was a safe, knowledgeable, and accommodating guide. We had to work and put in the miles, it is wild bird hunting after all, but we were able to take gambels, scaled, and mearns quail over three days. We wrapped our seasons with three slams, amazing!! Additionally, we recently traveled to Patagonia Argentina for an experience of a lifetime. Valley quail, ducks, trout, food, views, oh my!! If you’re looking for a knowledgeable guide who will put you in birds, Matt’s your guy. Whatever he tells you, believe it, whether it’s in the US or Argentina. Thank you for a great adventure Matt!!Posted on Mark VollingerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Matt is a knowledgeable and safe guide dedicated to providing a first class outdoor experience. This is not about the bag but a total experience of the environment, great working dogs, a careful guide and satisfied clients. One of the best quail experiences I’ve had in the Southwest.Posted on Jacob SloanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had a great time out west with these guys. Matt and his amazing pointers are simply the best there is in the world of quail hunting. As a guide, Matt is a perfectionist, yet he is easy going and great fun to walk the field with. Five stars all the way. (I’d give him a sixth, but Google doesn’t give you that option.)Posted on Art & Mary HeitzlerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Art Heitzler Plum Creek Kennels Fdbg, TX Myself and a group of friends hunted Mearn's Quail with John Sindland and desert quail with Matt Russell for the past several years. John's Brittanys are excellent, and he picked up two Epagneul Bretons over the past two years from our kennel. Even though the Mearn's numbers were down this year, we were able to find 4 or more coveys per day. Matt and his Braque du Bourbonaiss pointers are excellent and experienced at finding Scaled and Gambel's Quail in the ranch lands of SE AZ. We have had great adventures with Double Aero Guides over successive hunting seasons and look forward to many more.
